Perkins+Will was interested in developing a toolkit that would allow designers to gain detailed knowledge about cultural, climatic, economic, and infrastructural knowledge about locations all over the world. This research agenda focused on developing an interactive design tool that took into account numerous different measures and data sets in order to create a snapshot of a project site. Cross comparative analysis and grounded theory were the main research methodologies used in developing this tool for P+W’s subsidiary AREA research for work in Tanzania.
